SouthEast LeatherFest respects your privacy. We provide details of our Privacy Policy in this document, but the most important thing for you to know is this: SouthEast LeatherFest will not sell, distribute or share any of your personal information with a third party without your approval, or unless we are legally required to do so. SouthEast LeatherFest gathers personally identifiable information about you only when you provide it voluntarily by registering on this website and for events.

Personally Identifiable Information & Its Use

We only collect Personally Identifiable Information about you from our Site if you choose to provide it to us. This means you can visit our website without revealing any Personally Identifiable Information. Like most web sites, our servers do collect information about your visit, but not about you personally. This information may include the URL, IP address, browser type and language, and the date and time of your visit.

In order to use certain features of the website and to register for our events, you will be asked to register as a site user. Under our Terms of Service, you may not register an account for anyone but yourself. Each person participating in SELF is required to create their own individual user account. Any Personally Identifiable Information which is required and that you choose to provide within the site registration process to create your User Account will not be disclosed on our site to the public.

Once registered, you may be asked to provide additional information in various areas of the site. For example, those individuals who are Presenting, Vending or Judging at SELF will be asked to fill out specific additional Profile information, which will be used on the site and is viewable by the public.

On certain pages of the site, users have the option to email a link to the page to any email address they choose, including their own, or those of friends or family. SELF does not store or retain these email addresses in any way.
SELF has third parties that perform functions on our behalf, such as credit card processing and technical service providers. They only have access to personal information that is required to perform their functions, and are contractually obligated to maintain the confidentiality and security of the data. They are restricted from using or altering this data in anyway other than to provide requested services to the site. The only SouthEast LeatherFest personnel allowed access to personal information about you are those who need to have access. Any personnel or third party who violates our privacy and security policies is subject to disciplinary action, including possible termination or prosecution.

We may disclose your personally identifiable information: (a) to complete a transaction that you initiate, (b) as required by law, (c) when necessary to protect the safety of our attendees, personnel, or property, (d) when you specifically authorize it or (e) when required for proper maintenance of our infrastructure systems and website.
In response to compulsory (required) governmental and/or third party inquiries, we may disclose Personally Identifiable Information to comply with a court order, subpoena, and search warrant. We expressly reserve the right to disclose your Personally Identifiable Information when we have a good faith belief that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, or to enforce our agreements, policies, and rules governing your use of the SELF website, or to cooperate with law enforcement.

If in the future SELF enables a private Attendee area for information exchange between registered attendees of our events, only your account user name and/or scene name will be used. You will be notified in advance of any developments in this area so you may opt-out at that time.

Cookies & IP Address Tracking

Like most web sites, we may use cookies, web log files, IP addresses, or other web technology in order to recognize you as a registered user, improve overall site experience, tailor and customize the content of our site, or track website usage. This data may be exchanged between the user's computer, our site, and the systems of our technology partners, for example, our hosting provider. The linkage between this data and your Personally Identifiable Information is never shared without your permission or except when required by law.
Most major web browsers are set up so that they will initially accept cookies, but you may modify your computer's preferences to issue you an alert when a cookie is downloaded, or to disable the ability of third parties to download a cookie to you. If you choose to reject all cookies, there are areas of our SELF Website that may not function properly. You may obtain further information about cookies and how they function at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTTP_cookie.

IP address tracking: All computers and servers on the Internet use IP addresses to recognize and communicate with each other. We collect IP addresses for both business and system infrastructure reasons. When you visit our site on your computer, our servers enter the IP address of that computer into a log.
IP addresses allow us to administer and analyze our site and report aggregate, non-personal information (such as how many visitors we have at certain times of the day). When you email us from the website via our forms, we also collect your IP address. This allows us to have records on file for authorities in case of misuse of our online forms for spam attacks or email flooding.

For business reasons, IP address tracking is collected as well. For example, we collect IP addresses during commercial transactions in order to support any potential fraud or identity theft investigations that may arise. This is for your protection, as it allows us to prove what IP address initiated a particular transaction.
We do not and cannot use cookies or IP address tracking to retrieve personal information from your computer.
